Automatically Installing Stronghold CMS

Stronghold CMS is available with automated installation. This installation is a quick start for the standard installation, and will also allow people with limited knowledge (or advanced knowledge) of Linux to setup a working system with minimal effort.

Download and Install a copy of Ubuntu Server

Download Ubuntu Server 6.06 LTS from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

Configure your network interface

SSL Requires a static IP address. You will need to allocate an address and configure your network interface with this address.

sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces

Change the file to the following, substituting ?.?.?.? for your configuration settings:

iface eth0 inet static
address ?.?.?.?
netmask ?.?.?.?
gateway ?.?.?.?

Restart networking to apply the changes.

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

You may also need to set your DNS servers if they haven't been set by DHCP already.

sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf

Change your nameserver in the file to your DNS server, you may add multiple nameserver lines.

nameserver ?.?.?.?

Install!

Rub your belly with your left hand, tap the top of your head three times with your right hand, and then run this:

wget http://www.strongholdcms.org/install.ubuntu; chmod u+x install.ubuntu; sudo ./install.ubuntu
